How Narrow Does My Niche Need To Be?

The Business Stylist® Podcast Episode 133

This podcast and video are part of my ongoing Question and Answer series where I’m answering common questions I receive from independent coaches and consultants.

target your customers, niche

One of the most common questions I get is about picking a niche. Independent coaches and consultants often worry about picking too narrow of a niche for fear they will limit the size of their business.

But more often, independent coaches and consultants don’t choose a niche at all, or they choose one that is too broad.

If your niche is non existent, or too broad, your marketing won’t be specific enough. You will have trouble reaching your ideal clients because you haven’t even identified them yourself. And if your ideal clients do happen to see your marketing, chances are slim that it will resonate with them.

Watch the video or listen to the podcast for my full response to this question.

You can learn my 7-step proprietary marketing process for independent coaches and consultants, which includes an entire step on how to pick the right niche for you, in my online course, How to Market Yourself as a Coach or Consultant
