Random Acts of Kindness

I was the recipient of a random act of kindness.

I was caught totally by surprise and it inspired me to share here. Perhaps it will inspire all of us to pay it forward this holiday season. Whether you share a monetary gesture or just give of your time, it might just make someone’s day. Here’s how it made mine…

Suffering from a nasty cold, I went to get some hot tea.

I went through the Starbucks drive thru as I often do, and when I placed my order the barista said she’d have my total at the window. I didn’t think too much of it, even though they usually quote my price when I order. When I arrived at the window, she handed me my tea and told me the car in front of me had paid for my order. I didn’t know what to say other than thank you. By that time the car in front of me was gone. An anonymous gift with no expectation of thanks or reciprocation.

It inspired me to pay it forward this holiday season.

I don’t know when or where I’ll do it. I’ll trust that my heart will let me know the right time and place.

I hope this inspires you to do the same.

Happy Holidays!
