If you’re an independent coach or consultant you may wonder what the most effective online marketing or advertising strategy is for getting new clients and making sales.

It’s a question I hear often: What’s the best way to advertise my services?

My answer may surprise you. In fact, I usually don’t recommend directly advertising or marketing your coaching or consulting packages.

Consider how likely you would be to hire a coach or consultant based on an ad, especially if you haven’t had the chance to meet them in person. Probably not very likely.

Marketing coaching or consulting services online, or virtually on the web, is a bit different than marketing in the offline world.

It’s more about finding the best marketing strategies to drive traffic to your website, and then getting prospects to take a smaller step first, before expecting them to buy. A step such as getting them to sign up for your email list.
