Success really is just a mindset.
It’s what we think it is. We can allow our definition to be influenced by other people and outside factors or we can choose to define it for ourselves.
It’s clear that many of us are driven to be successful.
Our actions and decisions reflect this drive. However, those actions and decisions are also very much a reflection of how we choose to define success.
If we choose an internally motivated definition of success our life may look very different than if we choose to follow external influences.
Those who are pursuing their own personal definition of success are much more likely to be satisfied with their life because they have chosen to pursue what they deem important.
Whereas those who allow themselves to be driven by what others define as success may find emptiness when they achieve that success. They just may find that what they were striving for isn’t important to them after all, and as a result does not make them happy.
The lesson is to choose your goals carefully.
Be true to yourself. In the end it doesn’t matter what your life looks like on the outside, as long as you’re happy on the inside.
