While they do have one thing in common, these two plans are definitely NOT the same thing.

Both are important for independent coaches and consultants. In fact, your marketing plan really is dependent on your strategic plan. So, if you don’t have a strategic plan in place, you may end up wasting a lot of time and energy marketing your business. And, more importantly, you may not get where you’re trying to go.

  1. I think one key thing I get from you is the confidence to behave and communicate as though I have real value backed up by having the guts to know I am willing to tell a prospect that I just can’t help them the way they are insisting on if necessary.

    This is in addition to all the nuts and bolts I need to convey my true value and get paid for it.

  2. Yes David, confidence and guts are key in business!

    You have to be crystal clear about WHO you are, WHAT you do for your clients, and what you DON’T do. You can’t be afraid to tell a prospect No if they’re not a good fit. Remember, the more clients you take on that are not your ideal clients, the less room in your business for your ideal clients.

    And lastly, yes, confidence is one of the most important attributes an independent coach or consultant can possess. I’ve seen far too many people do everything right, in terms of setting up the business, and then due to lack of confidence, not get any clients.
